New Moon in one of Utah’s best: Kanab

From off-roading to epic geological formations, to imaging galaxies while eating a burger on the back porch of our Airbnb, this astrophotography workshop will encompass epic adventures to geological wonders as well as relaxing imaging sessions under the cosmos! Kanab is an epicenter of geologic wonders that will spark your creativity and inspire the artist inside of you.
The size of this workshop will be kept small, to ensure everyone gets plenty of one-on-one instruction as well as plenty of space to capture unique compositions that catch your eye. As always, my goal is to help you realize your creative potential, provide lessons to equip you with top of the line creative techniques, guide you safely to amazing places, and send you home with amazing photos and unforgettable memories!
Fall is a time of transition of the stars: Our nights will start with the Milky Way core and be a constant rotation of beauty as the beautiful Cygnus nebulae complex is overhead, the Andromeda Galaxy twinkles above, and the juicy rich region of Orion rises late into the night. The amount of attractive objects to shoot in the night sky overhead will only be rivaled by the amount of amazing geology below to choose as your foreground!

We will be providing transportation to and from every epic shooting location, wonderful accommodations with your own room, 5 nights of astrophotography lessons, group and one-on-one shooting and post processing lessons, and some group meals.

Difficulty
This astrophotography workshop is tailored to beginner and intermediate levels, and requires minimal hiking. We will cover astrophotography basics like single exposures, and build upon shooting and editing fundamentals as we get into tracking, stacking, and combining exposures.
Lodging is included
For this workshop I have reserved a lovely house just outside of Kanab, Utah. Everyone gets their own private room. The house is spacious, includes wifi, kitchen, couches, and Bortle 1 skies.
logistics
We have you covered on all transportation once in Kanab, to and from our shooting locations, including all 4x4 transportation. You are welcome to bring your own vehicle, not all locations are 4x4. If you are flying into Las Vegas International Airport, on the 26th and 31st, we can help arrange transportation to and from Kanab upon request.
workshop cost & payment terms
The tuition for this workshop is $2,500.00. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required to reserve your spot with the remaining balance due on the first day of the workshop (October 26th).
Join us!
This workshop is limited to 5 participants and only 3 spots remain. You are welcome to bring a friend or family member along on the workshop as a guest. Your guest is allowed to use the room and lodging, but may only participate in the shooting lessons if they purchase a participant spot. If so, contact us as they the guest slot is eligible for a discount! Repeat clients and veterans are eligible for a discount as well :)
