secrets of the Mojave

a unique “starcation” experience

November 18th to 22nd, 2022

Join us for 4 amazing nights of astrophotography lessons among secret geological wonders under the pristine dark skies of the Mojave Desert, Nevada (Near Las Vegas)! This workshop is perfect for beginner-intermediate astrophotographers who would like to learn shooting and post processing techniques that will allow them to capture extremely detailed images of the night sky with a regular DSLR/DSLM and lens set up! By adding a tracker into your set up, and stacking into your post processing tool bag, the lessons in this workshop will show you how reveal the hidden details and beauty of the cosmos in your RAW data.

Fall skies are loaded with wonders: Our nights will start with the Upper Milky Way and be a constant rotation of beauty as the beautiful Cygnus nebulae complex is overhead, the Andromeda Galaxy twinkles above, and the juicy rich region of Orion rises in the South. The amount of attractive objects to shoot in the night sky overhead will couple perfectly with the amazing geologic features we will be exploring.

The Orion Constellation shot with a Nikon d610 and 85mm lens on a tracker - ISO 400 f/3.5 300” x 36. Stacked in Pixinsight and Photoshop.
